Handy AutoCAD-1. Quick Mirror v.2

Quick Mirror is the first program in series of

FREE AutoCAD tools, by NYacad.

This small application provides 2-5 times faster performance of frequent AutoCAD command - Mirror. Watch video ▼ demonstrating regular MIrror and new commands in work. Read below, how to install and use the program.

Installation and Setup

After auto installation is complete you will find the new folder on your workstation:

C:\HA-1 QuickMirror

Include two files QuickMirror.lsp and QuickMirror.dvb (found under C:\HA-1 QuickMirror directory) in ACAD Startup Suite. To do it:

·         Type "appload" at the command prompt

·         Press button “Contents…”

·         Click on “Add…” button and browse to find files: QuickMirror.lsp and QuickMirror.dvb. Select both files and Press ‘Add’

·         Close dialog windows

Enter shortcut Q1 at the AutoCAD command prompt. The main form pops up:

2. Using the Program

Before you start the mirror command you already know, what to do with the selected objects: delete source objects or not. So we can eliminate: Delete source objects?

MIRROR (2 points): Delete source objects? --> YES

Press the button 7 in form or enter shortcut 7 and pick 2 points on the screen.

MIRROR (2 points): Delete source objects? --> NO

Press the button 8 in form or enter shortcut 8 and pick 2 points on the screen.

The next group of 4 commands is based on common sense: maybe in 90% of cases you are performing Mirror command using horizontal or vertical axis. So we can omit (programmatically) pick second Mirror point.

MIRROR- horizontal axis (1 point): Delete source objects? --> YES

Press the button 7- in form or enter shortcut 7- and pick one point on the screen.

MIRROR- horizontal axis (1 point): Delete source objects? --> NO

Press the button 8- in form or enter shortcut 8- and pick one point on the screen.

MIRROR- vertical axis (1 point): Delete source objects? --> YES

Press the button 7I in form or enter shortcut 7I and pick one point on the screen.

MIRROR- vertical axis (1 point): Delete source objects? --> NO

Press the button 8I in form or enter shortcut 8I and pick one point on the screen.

New Commands in release 2 – mirror Last objects (enter shortcut, press Enter and click one point on the screen):

Delete source objects? --> NO : Shortcuts 8II  and 8--

Delete source objects? --> Yes : Shortcuts 7II  and 7--
